Since 2003, SHEEO has produced the annual SHEF report to broaden understanding and enable analysis of state-level and national funding and enrollment trends over time. SHEF provides the earliest possible review of state funding for higher education for the most recently completed fiscal year.
More than just a report, SHEF is a core member service for state higher education executive officers and their staffs. The report has become the go-to resource for tracking funding trends over time and is used by policymakers, researchers, and the media.
SHEF data providers regularly revise and improve their data submissions. For this reason, datasets from past editions of the SHEF report contain outdated information and should be used for reference only.
